Children among 9 injured in Philadelphia apartment fire

An article of CBS revealed on December 6 that four children were among the nine people who were injured after a fire broke out at an apartment complex in Philadelphia.

According to reports, the two-alarm fire in the 4500 block of Frankford Avenue broke out around 4:30 a.m. and 75 firefighters attended the scene. Rescuers safely evacuated 12 people from their units during the fire.

Commissioner Robert Corrigan said they effectively contained the fire by being aggressive inside the burning building. Some of the residents were transported to the hospital due to burn injuries they sustained, and others chose to bring themselves to the hospital for treatment. In all, 21 people were displaced because of the incident.
