A January 4 article of CBS Philly revealed that at least 46 people aboard two SEPTA trolleys suffered injuries after the two cars got involved in an accident.
In the information posted by SEPTA on Twitter on January 5, they advised commuters to plan accordingly due to stalling trolley operations between 38th Lancaster, 36th, and Market following the mishap. A SEPTA representative told reports that at around 1:00 p.m., two westbound Route 10 trolleys had a rear-end collision at 38th Street. Though reports confirmed that 46 trolley passengers were hospitalized, all of the injuries they sustained were non-life threatening. Unaffected trolleys were rerouted as crews and authorities worked on the crash scene.
